Pasco Sheriff’s detectives have released a report detailing their investigation into a stabbing that occurred Thursday in Port Richey. The report identifies the suspect as Andrew Travis Sims of King Arthur Drive, Port Richey. Sims is in custody.
According to the investigation, the two victims were sitting on the front porch of the ground level apartment when Sims approached them and asked to use the phone. Sims was known by one of the victims, Asia Spencer, as “Drew.”
After entering the apartment, the second victim, Kenneth Martiszus, left the room to go take a shower. Spencer walked to the kitchen to get a drink and Sims attacked her with a knife, slashing her neck and then stabbing her in the abdomen.
Sims then walked back to the bathroom and attacked Martiszus who was in the shower.
Although hurt, Spencer fled the residence and called 911 from a neighbors house. They then when back to the apartment where they observed Sims and Martiszus fighting inside the living room through the open front door.
Sims then fled the area on foot. Martiszus, who had been fighting naked, also exited the apartment and collapsed on the grass.
A witness began video taping Martiszus and asking who stabbed him. In answer to the questioning, Spencer can be heard yelling in the background, “It was Drew, his name is Andrew.”
Martiszus was pronounced dead at 11:26 am by Pasco Fire Rescue. Spencer was transported to Bayonet Medical Center for treatment. She is expected to fully recover.
